Personal Profile

Are you typically British and modest when selling yourself or can you confidently answer interviewers and tell anyone who'll listen about your achievements?

Steph has had the benefit of both a non-disabled and disabled perspective. She talks credibly and from experience about the benefits and requirements for businesses and organisations of making their products and services accessible.

She has a commercial background and has travelled internationally while working in the highly competitive fashion industry. She has worked in designing, marketing, buying and sales for companies such as Ted Baker and suppliers to Marks and Spencer.

Steph is a popular writer and professional speaker. Her articles have been published by the BBC, Disability Now! and Handbag.com.

Steph is naturally positive in her outlook. She is approachable, professional and strongly believes in the positive benefits Open Eyed provides. She was awarded ‘Young Achiever of the Year 2005’ by the Prince's Trust for Coventry and Warwickshire.

"Steph came to the college after losing a great deal of her sight in a very short space of time. In all the ten years I have worked with visually impaired people I can honestly say I have never met anyone quite like Steph! She was determined from the beginning to meet the new challenges she faced head-on. Many people faced with sight loss fall into a depressive state yet Steph remained positive and focused. She is an inspiration to others."

"I have the privilege to work on a daily basis with a wide range of highly talented entrepreneurs. Steph is one of these, having created an exceptional business. Steph is an innovator. She is one of a rare breed of entrepreneurs who are able to overcome obstacles that would stop most people. She turns problems into opportunities - the mark of an exceptional person with an exceptional business. I highly recommend Open Eyed."
